The Future of Artificial Language Learning in Linguistics
4 September, 2024

This workshop marks the end of the ERC project "Syntax shaped by cognition:
transforming theories of syntactic systems through laboratory experiments"
,
PI Professor Jennifer Culbertson, which ran from 2017 - 2024.

The purpose of the workshop is to take stock of recent developments in the use of
Artificial Language Learning for linguistics, and to discuss what the future of the methodology holds.
ALL has undergone a huge increase in popularity in the past 15 years, and is now used in all subfields
of linguistics. In light of recent successes (and probably some failures!), workshop speakers will address
what they see as the most promising questions, and most pressing challenges for ALL are going forward.

To register to attend the workshop in Edinburgh, or virtually (via teams here) .
